Community Support

Many families living in chronic poverty suffer from sickness, illiteracy, malnutrition, and exploitation. Without support and direction from our holistic community development programs, these vulnerable families would continue to suffer. We try to raise money to support them in building their own toilets and water pump wells at home, which they can use for their family.

Impoverished parents often lack access to education, which results in low-paying, exploitative labour to provide for their children.

Due to limited access to free education, families find themselves trapped in the poverty cycle. The World Bank reported that only 13.5% of Cambodians live beneath the poverty line. However, this figure is disproportionately low because the Cambodian national poverty line, determined by the Ministry Of Planning, is a meagre 0.98 cents per day. A significant percentage of Cambodian families survive just above this statistic, and while not technically below the poverty line, they are still living with scarcity and suffering.

The regions from which our students hail are underdeveloped, with scarce job opportunities available to their families.

However, in cases where we have access to funds, we provide emergency aid to families in dire need. This aid includes providing essential household goods such as rice, sauces, mosquito nets, mats, tarpaulins, and cooking utensils, building houses for families without a secure place to live, renovating existing houses to ensure adequate protection from the elements, constructing basic toilets, water wells, and installing or upgrading water filters for homes and villages to reduce the risk of disease and infection.
