I.T Program

Our students have the option to utilize a computer to construct their community.

Many of our students come from a village lacking basic facilities like electricity and plumbing. As a result, they do not have access to technology or hardware in their homes.
In the Cambodian public school system, children are not introduced to computers until secondary school. Even then, they only have one hour of class per week, insufficient time to learn the basics. Moreover, the classes are often overcrowded, and the resources are frequently broken. Consequently, less than 25% of children reach high school.
Computer literacy is an essential skill in the 21st-century job market and is particularly important for our students. Over the past decade, technology has become a driving force in people’s lives, transcending poverty, race, and economics.

Our I.T training program has a proven track record of helping graduates find excellent permanent employment or part-time jobs to support their further education. Our program is designed to provide students with the necessary soft and hard skills in basic computing. The course runs for 6 months, with 1 hour of daily training, 5 days a week.

Our curriculum is tailored specifically for students who are using computers for the very first time. We cover all core hard skills such as opening the laptop, using a mouse and learning to type on both Khmer and English keyboards. In addition, we provide training in Microsoft Office and other software programs, including Word for processing, creating and editing documents, Excel for creating spreadsheets and formulas, Power Point for developing documents and slides for presentations, and searching for information and emailing skills.

Upon successful completion of the program, our students receive accreditation and are awarded a Certificate of Competency in Computer Basics, Typing, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point, Internet and Email, recognized by the Cambodian Department of Labour and Vocational Training.
