MORE LEARNERS

Our Library Program

“Our library program is more than just a room filled with books. It serves as a place where children in our community can discover the joy of reading, develop their language skills,  and broaden their horizons beyond their village. Many of our students do not have access to books at home, making this library their gateway to knowledge, imagination,  and a brighter future.”

The Purpose of Our Library Program

– Promote a Reading Culture:

The library encourages children to love reading, which forms the foundation for all learning.

– Support Education Beyond the Classroom:

It provides students access to books and resources they might not have at home.

– Equal Access to Knowledge:

All students, regardless of their background, can use the library free of charge.

Why It’s Important for Our Community

– Bridging the Knowledge Gap:

In rural communities, access to books and the internet is often limited. Our library helps to close this gap.

– Keeping Children Engaged in Positive Activities:

The library serves as a safe space for learning, creativity, and exploration.

– Supporting Language Skills:

Reading contributes to the improvement of English, Khmer and other language abilities.

Skills and Values It Builds

– Critical Thinking:

Reading a variety of books encourages students to think more deeply.

– Imagination and Creativity:

Stories ignite new ideas and inspire creativity.

– Lifelong Learning:

Students learn to enjoy reading for personal growth, not just for exams.

– Responsibility:

Borrowing and returning books teaches students to care for shared resources.

Benefits for Our School

– Improves student performance in reading, writing, and comprehension.

– Strengthens teaching by providing teachers with additional materials and story-based lessons.

– Creates a community hub where children, parents,  and volunteers can come together.

How We Make It Work
